  • Preparing Students for the Next Stage of Their Educational Journeys

Our Mission

The Heritage Hall Office of College Counseling partners with students and their families to find the right fit. With two college counselors assigned to a class of approximately 90 seniors, our students are fortunate to benefit from a small counselor to student ratio of approximately 1:45. (According to the National Association of College Admission Counselors’ most recent report, the national average is 400+ students per counselor.) Our counselors also visit college campuses, take part in professional organizations to establish valuable contacts, and stay aware of the latest trends in this ever-changing field.

Meeting with students in both individual and group settings, we discuss college options based on certain criteria to help students narrow down their college lists. We also offer students assistance completing applications and writing essays.

Using our college counseling software system, students can sign up for meetings with college representatives who visit Heritage Hall, request transcripts and teacher recommendations, and inform us when they have applied to their schools.

Parents are given the opportunity to participate in special morning coffees and evening workshops to discuss a range of topics, including financial aid, the application timeline, and standardized testing. We also offer a panel discussion where they can learn from the most recent “experts” – parents of graduating seniors.

By working together, we are able to assure that our students will begin the next chapter of their lives knowing that they have found the right fit for them.
