2023 Strategic Plan

2023 Strategic Plan Charts a Course for Success

As Heritage Hall approaches its 55th year of operation, our School is thriving campus-wide. Enrollment has reached historic numbers, and our accomplished students continue to raise the bar for their successors in academics, fine arts, debate, service learning, and athletics.

In June, 2023, the Board of Trustees adopted the Strategic Plan Committee’s vision to ensure Heritage Hall’s continued success and growth through the 2023 Strategic Plan. Following an initial four months of planning, the committee identified, discussed, and outlined a framework for Heritage Hall’s priorities among the ever-evolving landscape of education.

Consisting of five “pillars,” the Strategic Plan was designed to build upon the School’s successes and sustain Heritage Hall into the future. In the coming months, an implementation committee will develop a thorough list of action items to help the following five pillars to materialize:

WELL-BEING

A school community that is physically and mentally healthy is optimally positioned to achieve all other objectives. To provide the best environment for the Heritage Hall experience, the School will elevate well-being to align with the significance placed on core disciplines of academics, arts, and athletics.

THE REASON TO LEARN

The Heritage Hall education experience is not simply a means to an end; it instills the foundation for students to serve themselves and the greater good perpetually. When students appraise their academic success solely on scores and college admissions, they diminish their educational experience. Heritage Hall will focus students on the intrinsic value of learning and how being intellectually curious will positively impact them for the rest of their lives.

CULTURE OF BELONGING

Belonging, diversity, and inclusivity positively impact the Charger experience and create a school atmosphere welcoming to those beyond the campus. Heritage Hall will build upon existing initiatives to nurture a culture of belonging and to reveal itself as such to the greater community.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Heritage Hall’s teachers must continually evolve to remain leaders in their fields. Additionally, the school must continue to attract innovative educators who value life-long learning. Heritage Hall will expand professional development opportunities to strengthen its current faculty and grow its employee value proposition.

INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

For Heritage Hall to provide an exceptional independent school experience, the School must cultivate a culture of philanthropy and secure capital and endowment funding that supports its innovative programming and helps retain exceptional faculty through competitive compensation. Heritage Hall will prioritize development efforts for new facilities, teacher compensation, and increased endowment.
